Musical Directors
DAVE PARKES, M.Ed., B.Mus (Hon)

Dave Parkes completed his Bachelor of Music (Honours Education) in 1996, his Bachelor of Education (Instrumental and Vocal Music) 1997, and his Masters of Education in 2010 at the University of Western Ontario. He currently teaches at Northern Collegiate in Sarnia where he directs the Intermediate band and Senior Jazz Band as well as the NCIVS choir. An active educator, Dave is currently a member of the Canadian Band Association and the Ontario Music Educator's Association, as well as serving as the current Chair of the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts in Sarnia. His involvement with the music community of Sarnia and Lambton County also includes several music theatre productions. Dave continues to actively perform with the Plumbing Factory Brass Band based in London, Ontario and on a freelance basis throughout the region. musicdirectors@lambtonconcertband.com
BLAKE STEVENSON, B.Ed., B.Mus (Hon)

Blake Stevenson - Bachelor of Music, Honours Clarinet Performance, Bachelor of Education (University of Windsor). Blake Stevenson has taught Instrumental Music with the Lambton/Kent Board of Education for the last 15 years. Mr. Stevenson is former principal clarinetist with the Windsor Symphony, the Windsor Light Opera, and more recently the International Symphony of Sarnia/Port Huron. With the Essex Winds Woodwind Quintet, he has released 3 C.D.s of wind quintet music, as well as a C.D. with Hot Air Trio. In recent years Mr. Stevenson's focus has shifted from clarinet performance to composition, arranging and conducting. Mr. Stevenson is currently Band conductor at Northern Collegiate in Sarnia, Ontario. A recent composition, Trio for Clarinet, Bassoon and Piano was premiered at the International Double Reed convention in Muncie, Indiana in July of 2006.
